Wedding Photographs are some of the most important memory keeps that you will always have, to remember what your Wedding day was like.  It is one thing you cannot miss and cannot do without at your wedding.  A wedding photograph ought to be very good and well detailed, that is to also say you should be hiring a very good photographer who knows not to miss very important details of your wedding,  remember important shot missed can never be gotten back from that day.

If you are having your Wedding the African way, you know everything is a Rush Hush,  you have to be up very early to get ready, a lot of things are happening at the same time, any shot missed at that time can hardly be gotten back.  It is important to have a list of detailed shot discussed with your photographer.

Shot #1

Wedding Rings Shots:  one of the detail shots to look out for from your wedding, are Wedding rings.  A shot of your wedding rings symbolizes agreement.  Those two rings paired together tells a story of how two have agreed to become one, and stay one forever.  So make sure your photographer gets the shot by all means and be sure to cooperate with them, no matter how tensed you feel on that day.

Wedding Accessories Shots:  Accessories such as Wedding Cards, bouquet, jewelry, perfumes, purse, shoes, wrist watch, tie, tiara, flowers, etc should be documented as well.  A wedding is a Story, every detail told in the story makes it Rich therefore every detail deserves a space in your Rich Wedding Story.

Getting Ready Shots: your getting ready shots are very important detail shots to have from your wedding ceremony.  Getting ready shots such as zipping wedding dress, putting on shoes, putting on veil by mother or brides maid, tying the bridal gele, placing of the ipele on the shoulder, wearing jewelry, wearing perfume etc, all these should be documented as well, they are moments that you cannot get over even after a long time.

Moments Shots: Moment such as:

• Groom and Bridal reveal: that moment the Groom sees his beautiful bride, the wow effect expression and a possible brief crying session which is bound to occur in most cases. 
• Bridal entrance:  bride leaving the hotel room, entering church/court.
• Throwing bouquet: throwing bridal bouquet moments to friends.
• Tearing: a wedding isn’t complete yet without anyone crying. Emotions are stirred up always at a wedding,  it is always bond to happen.
• The kiss: the moment everyone is always anticipating at a wedding.
• Receiving the engagement gifts as in the Yoruba Culture: receiving gifts, bride accepting gifts and marriage proposal, these should be documented.
• Exchange of groom’s cap as in the Yoruba culture: exchanging the grooms cap by bride , after she accepts marriage proposal. And groom carrying bride to meet his parents saying, this is the woman I choose.
• Exchange of gifts between bride and groom: Exchange of gifs between bride and groom before ceremony.
• Holding of hands
• Bride and groom in Car

Ceremony Space Shots:  I once had a bride who asked me about her welcome sign shots when I delivered her wedding photos, I was shocked she did, because I felt why in the world will any photographer miss that beautiful detail.  The photo was right there she only skipped a bit, and then I also thought not many photographers will take that because they feel its not that important to the bride and groom, but trust me, you will find yourself wanting every piece of story you can find on your decor at your ceremony space.  From Food, to table settings, to all decor details of the ceremony space.

Mother & Daughter Shots: A shot with you and your Mother on your wedding day is a BIG DEAL this intimate moment of your mother praying, and passing on a mantle and all her marital wishes for you is one of the shots you cant get enough of.  From holding hands, to smiling, to touching cheeks and wiping tears, and all that bonding, that is a detail your photographer should not miss.

Father Handing over Bride to Groom Shots: at the moment a father hands over his daughter to another Man, it symbolizes: “I have Faith in you, Take good care of her”.  Make sure that moment is caught, its priceless I tell you.

Food and Party Time Shots: the satisfaction you get when you see a photo of peoples expression when eating and dancing at your wedding gives you the confidence that everyone was happy.  You know you are up on stage as the king and Queen of the ceremony, you really don’t know alot happening around at the moment.   The charismatic expression your friends express when dancing, the happiness from family and friends, the warm hugs and kisses, the boggie down time, all these are detail shots to not miss on your wedding day.
